An incredibly rare 'lost' plant thought to have died out 50 years ago has been rediscovered by an excited gardener. The 100-year-old Rhododendron beanianum was first discovered by Victorian plant hunter George Forrest 15,000ft up a mountain in China. Seeds were brought back to England and named after a botanist called Mr Bean before being planted at Minterne House, near Dorchester, Dorset. There are only a handful of Rhodedendrun beanianun's in the country. It grows by only half an inch a year...
